Yes, the original release of Star Wars Battlefront is available for Windows XP. At the time of release, Windows Vista, 7, or 8 weren't released on the market for public. They weren't even planned for release. I can't say the same thing for the new Battlefront that was released a few days ago.
The new game has pretty high demands when it comes to processing power (both CPU and GPU):
Minimum PC System Requirements OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
Recommended PC System Requirements OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later
